Cirex

Cirex, from Puerto Rico —the Island of Enchantment—, emerges from a scene where not only the reggaeton we know today was born, but also a strong community of electronic music artists. From within that landscape, Cirex rises.

The project officially began in 2009, using platforms such as SoundCloud and MySpace. Eric, Cirex’s real name, started by experimenting with simple programs of the time until discovering FL Studio, the tool that truly helped shape his sonic identity. He not only created loops and mixes, but as a guitarist and bassist, he incorporated his own instruments, bringing the project closer to a more personal sound aligned with his influences.

His inspirations include Celldweller and Trent Reznor, combined with a “metalhead” background developed since his teenage years, listening to bands like Slayer and Testament, as well as the nu metal of Korn and the hard rock/rap style of Rage Against the Machine.

By 2026, across EPs and full-length releases, he has put out Chaos, Still Me, and Year 2083, now adding his latest project, “No Future” (April 30). This release delivers a powerful and aggressive blend of metal and deathstep, featuring low-tuned guitars, DJ scratches, and heavy electronic elements.

Cirex is also in the process of participating in a film project, although no details can be disclosed at this time. As for his music, he allows anyone to freely use it in YouTube videos, video games, or other projects, as long as proper credit is given.

He is currently exploring Hip Hop as well, with a series of remixes available on Bandcamp.
