The NYPD is investigating a stolen unmarked police car that was crashed by individuals at the Bruckner Expressway, with an anonymous tip directing them towards a music video shot in Harlem last month in March that could potentially be connected. Authorities are searching for the remaining suspects who stole the vehicle in the Bronx and crashed it near Bryant Avenue. Police believe that some of the individuals at that video shoot could be the suspects.
According to a story posted by Eyewitness News 7, the incident took place on Tuesday, January 24, 2023. Four individuals wearing ski masks were reported to have jumped into the vehicle on Westchester Avenue and Lane Avenue, driving it for about four miles before crashing into a barrier on the Bruckner Expressway. The suspects then abandoned the car and fled on foot.
During the investigation, a tip led police to a music video shoot in Harlem where witnesses claimed they saw individuals with ski masks and cameras recording inside of police and other emergency vehicles without any authorities present. As a result, rapper Ariie West and his record label are now talking with the police about his music video shoot for his single “Dangerous” that took place last month in March.
At this time, the police are not certain if the two incidents are connected, and these are only allegations. The investigation into the stolen unmarked police car and the potential link to Ariie West’s music video shoot remains ongoing.
