Every artist has an origin story. Davv-O $tacks has two.
The creator, who also performs as YoursTrulyDOS, was born into the pace and pressure of the
Bronx and shaped just as much by Kinston, North Carolina, where the projects sat beside a
police station and a graveyard. One place gave him confidence and hunger. The other gave him
a country edge and a sharper view of the world. Together they built an artist who can move from
raw street emotion to melody to bigger ideas in a single record. Now that story is entering a new
chapter with distribution through EMPIRE/GT Digital.
Ask Davv-O how he describes his music and he’ll steer you away from the word “rapper.” His
catalog pulls from new-age pop, alternative hip-hop, melodic songwriting, and rock, depending
on what the moment demands. He writes from feeling first, starting with the beat, finding the
hook that comes naturally, then building verses around the emotional center of the song. The
themes stay consistent: relationships, trust, heartbreak, ambition, and the experience of being
misunderstood. Even when a record is confident or aggressive, he wants something real
underneath.
His approach to the business has been just as hands-on. He edits, mixes, masters, creates
content, shapes the visuals, and manages much of the release process himself. That discipline
has clarified what he wants from the team and partners around him, and distribution is a key
piece of that. His influences explain the mindset. Watching tour vlogs from MGK, Wiz Khalifa,
and Soulja Boy showed him that an artist’s world includes the shows, the style, the fans, and
everything behind the scenes. Getting invited backstage by country artist Koe Wetzel made it
real.
“Accusing Me,” produced by Xtasane and released November 11, 2025, shows where he’s
headed. The song grew out of a familiar tension: someone close to you insists you’ve changed
while your life moves in a new direction. It plays as both a defense and a question, melodic and
emotional with an alternative edge, and an official video accompanies the release.
“Chemistry” is the next single in development, with Davv-O Diary to follow. The project is built
like pages from a personal journal, giving each song room to explore a different mood, from
relationships and anger to confidence and isolation.
Beyond the music, Davv-O’s vision is a lasting brand.
$tacks and DOS, which can also stand for Dreams Over Society, are meant to
grow into a music, creative, and lifestyle name with a catalog that outlives any one moment.
His message to other independent artists is simple: build an identity before you chase attention,
keep releasing, and don’t let low numbers on one post convince you the vision isn’t working.
