Broward County, Florida artist Voltaire has dropped off a fresh new EP called VWAY. Containing sharply-crafted, focused vocals and infectious, often darkly immersive production, VWAY is a solid project that immediately had us hooked on the musician’s work. A self-produced record, VWAY contains brooding production centred around moody synths and pouding percussion that creates a solid foundation for the young rapper’s memorable vocal performances. Throughout the project, he shines on the mic, with songs like “Marilyn Monroe” containing elegant melodies delivered with an engaging mic presence. Closer “Nineteen” also provides a highlight with its cathartic sound and emotive songwriting, capturing the listener with its emotionally layered feel.
