British singer Olivia Dean is calling out major ticketing platforms after fans reported shockingly high resale prices for seats on her newly announced Art of Loving Live tour.
Shortly after the general on-sale opened, Dean took to Instagram to address the issue directly. She told fans that her team was actively “looking into” unexpected resale spikes and urged them to stay cautious, especially when encountering ticket sellers in comment sections — many of which she labeled as potential scams.
“I’m sorry that there seems to be an issue with ticket re-selling and pricing,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories. “My team are currently looking into it. It is extremely frustrating as the last thing I want is for anyone to be scammed or overcharged for our show. Please be wary of buying tickets in the comment sections as it is most likely a scam.”
In a follow-up message, Dean openly criticized major ticketing giants. “@ticketmaster @livenation @aegpresents you are providing a disgusting service. The prices at which you’re allowing tickets to be re-sold is vile and completely against our wishes. Live music should be affordable and accessible and we need to find a new way of making that possible. BE BETTER.”
Fans across social media echoed her frustration, reporting long virtual queues and dramatically inflated “verified resale” listings that appeared within minutes of tickets going live. Some prices soared to several hundred dollars above the original face value, varying by city and venue.
Ticketmaster later responded by resharing Dean’s post and promising to enforce a new cap. “We support artists’ ability to set the terms of how their tickets are sold and resold. @oliviadeano, we will cap resale prices on our site at face value and hope other resale sites will follow,” the company wrote.
The rising U.K. star, a BRIT School alum, continues to dominate charts with four songs currently on the Billboard Hot 100 — her first entries ever — including the viral hit “Man I Need,” which climbed into the Top 5 on the Nov. 8 chart. Her sophomore album, The Art of Loving, recently debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200, marking her highest career entry so far.
Dean recently unveiled her 2026 tour dates, celebrating one of her biggest milestones yet: her first headlining performance at New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden. She is also set to appear at Australia’s 2025 ARIA Awards. The North American leg of her tour kicks off in July in San Francisco and will pass through major U.S. cities before concluding in Austin.
