“Nothing I Need” by Lord Huron jumps two spots to the top of Billboard’s Adult Alternative Airplay chart on May 31. This is the second time in a row that the song has been No. 1.
Both of Lord Huron’s No. 1s were reached after seven-week climbs to the top. It took “Nothing I Need” the second-fastest to No. 1 in 2025, after “Same Old Song” by The Lumineers (five weeks, February).
Along with “Not Dead Yet” and “Nothing I Need,” Lord Huron also had “Mine Forever,” which peaked at No. 2 on Adult Alternative Airplay in 2021. The band made the list for the first time in 2015, when “Fool for Love” reached No. 3.
Additionally, “Nothing I Need” moves from number 31 to number 26 on the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, which is based on audience, thanks to 1.5 million audience views, which is an increase of 19% in the week ending May 22. This is Lord Huron’s second-highest-charting song so far; only “The Night We Met,” which peaked at No. 21, is higher.
The first song from Lord Huron’s fifth studio album, The Cosmic Selector Vol. 1, is called “Nothing I Need.” It will be out on July 18. It came out before this one and was number one on the Americana/Folk Albums chart when it came out in June 2021. It has since sold 283,000 equivalent album units.
All May 31 Billboard charts will be updated on Billboard.com on Wednesday, May 28. This is a day later than usual because May 26 is Memorial Day.
