IamDerby performs at “Tre Day” Stop The Violence Event hosted by Promo Kings Radio Podcast’s very own Travis Moore (aka Tre’ Stylez). The event took place at Poplar Hall Park in Norfolk, Virginia on July 4, 2022. WTKR News 3 (@wtkr3 on instagram) was seen covering the event on live television.
IamDerby was seen giving out hand-crafted & personalized “goodie” bags for the youth that attended, giving free signed hard copies of his debut album (A Pain So Beautiful, 2021) to the adults present, and posted up with security everywhere he went. The event was originally supposed to be a formally dressed all white party on a Yacht in Portsmouth, Virginia, IamDerby’s hometown. Local sources state that due to racial complications with the boat owner(s), that event was postponed. Travis Moore (Tre’ Stylez), the event planner, took it upon himself to do something for the community instead that involved all ages as well as send a positive message out during these times where it’s needed the most in not only the Hampton Roads area but everywhere!
“The event was different in all aspects of what it was originally supposed to be but it was definitely needed. I felt that I played a major role and the event in its totality made an impact on me as I hope I made on others, especially the kids. I had fun and I’m glad to have been a part of the first annual Tre Day; Stop The Violence Festival. I pray to be a part of many more to come and other similar events in the future” says IamDerby to one of our interviewers.
