After the anticipated February release date for his upcoming album, Dominique, passed, Lil Baby sent an update.
Baby disclosed that the new LP will instead be released in May in a video that was shared on social media this week.
In eight weeks, the album will be released. I have to postpone it,” he said.
Lil Baby’s album WHAM, which was released at the beginning of the year, peaked at number one on the Billboard 200 for the week ending January 18, surpassing Bad Bunny, SZA, Kendrick Lamar, and Sabrina Carpenter.
Travis Scott, Future, Young Thug, GloRilla, Rod Wave, Rylo, and 21 Savage are among the artists who appear on the album, which was released on January 3. Additionally, Little Baby is already working on a new record.
The next week, Baby posted the amazing WHAM statistics to Instagram with the message, “See yall Again in a couple weeks ‘Dominique’ The Album 2-?-25.”
During an appearance on Little Yachty’s A Safe Place podcast in December, the Atlanta native revealed that both albums would be released in 2025 and described their differences.
“I know my fan base really wants to hear certain songs, so I still put some of the songs I was going to use for Dominique on WHAM,” he said. “WHAM” is more me on some young n-gga junk, including jewelry, money, fast vehicles, and chicks. The turnt lifestyle, you know.
“And Dominique is more the serious me, more personal,” Baby went on. That is a component of my new path. I detest the term “vulnerable,” but I am going to be more forthcoming with my audience and followers.
NLE Choppa, BigXthaPlug, and Loe Shimmy will accompany Baby when he embarks on WHAM’s road trip in June.
The domestic dates run through July 1, with the voyage starting in Houston on June 3. After that, things kick back up with concerts in Australia the next month and Europe in September.
