Hip-Hop may not have the same mainstream presence in border cities as it does in other parts of India, but that doesn’t mean the genre doesn’t exist in Ferozepur City. There are likely many underground hip-hop scenes in the border city, where rappers and other hip-hop artists perform and produce their music. While hip-hop may not be as visible in border cities as in other places, that doesn’t mean it’s not present.
Lovish Arora aka LA, is a rapper, music producer and media artist. He always believed in self-made strategy and produced it in another way with different ideas. Representing Ferozepur City in many songs like Ferozepur Finest and Ferozepur Anthem, now moved to Canada. We came to know that he worked with many artists there and is still linked with the scene. As we talked and came to know he was listening to other artists in the city but never saw any support for them because the struggle was more real than mainstream artists.
People asked him to produce folk songs because they can’t understand the rap-type lyrics or they don’t understand the Hip-Hop Culture. Time has changed and it is as same as with Music, ” My Grand Father used to listen to Alam Lohar, My father Listened to “Mohammad Sadiq” and I listened to every single rap artist from India or other Countries, so my taste changed” told when asked about the change in music.
Does Hip-Hop exist in a border city like Ferozepur?
Hip-hop may not have the same mainstream presence in border cities as it does in other parts of India, but that doesn’t mean the genre doesn’t exist in Ferozepur City. Many artists seek to go to other cities to create and collab, But I think people will invest in the city and make it more competitive soon.
