Long before big names in entertainment such as Beyoncé, Janet Jackson, Drake, and Chris Brown ever sought to do collaborations in Afrobeats music, an International independent artist by the name of “Carmolina” was at the forefront after meeting renowned Afrobeats artist Davido in France! That is where she also, met her late manager Steve Osagie the CEO of Spotlight Management, and signed a deal!
Immediately after business meetings in France, Carmolina took a bold and daring step and flew off to Nigeria where she lived one year recording her Afrobeats singles long before famous names in the music industry internationally took any interest in Afrobeats! Carmolina was way ahead.
Growing up in Europe around many different Africans exposed her to many artists of Africa. She knew of Psquare and 2Face aka 2Baba and loved their music long before Afrobeats was recognized internationally! She found YouTube videos when she was a child of the late icon Fela Kuti and fell in love with the style and rhythms!
Carmolina, found her true passion and style in music with Afrobeats! Her true vocal accolades, creativity, and vocal style as a musician gave her the courage to step up to who she truly was in music!
Freak Retreat- is a unique creativity by Carmolina. She bridged Afrobeats with Hip-hop and Pop creating an Afrofusion sound. Before the death of her late manager, this song was the dying wish for her to push- with….that surprise is coming soon!
