Significant improvements have been made to Amtrak’s mobile application, which will streamline travel procedures and increase consumer convenience. These improvements, which are compatible with both the iOS and Android platforms, bring a number of significant enhancements that are intended to improve the user experience and provide more value as passengers make their travel plans.
“Amtrak is dedicated to continuously enhancing and growing our mobile platform because we recognize that our customers are always on the go,” stated Eliot Hamlisch, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Amtrak. “After hearing from our users, we enhanced the Amtrak app’s appearance and features to provide a better experience. With better access to tickets, train status, and other information while they are on the go, these new enhancements allow consumers to concentrate even more on their travel.
Real-Time Train Status Updates and Schedule Modifications: Passengers can now easily obtain real-time train status updates. To ensure that passengers are aware of any schedule changes as soon as they access their reservation screen, this feature is automatically presented for active journeys within 24 hours.
Interactive Train Tracking: Based on the present position of the train in relation to future stations, the app offers a station-to-station train tracker. The Amtrak website also offers this tracking tool.
Advance Seat Selection: During the reservation procedure, passengers can choose their seats in advance. All Acela trains and Business Class on some services, such as the Northeast Regional, Palmetto, Vermonter, and Carolinian, offer this option on trains with specified seating layouts.
Centralized Trip Management: To improve accessibility and organization, travelers may now manage and view their past, present, and future journeys from a single interface with the new “My Trips” tab.
Simplified Trip Modifications: The app now allows users to change certain aspects of a trip straight from the user interface, providing flexibility while preserving access to the most affordable tickets.
Improved Home Screen Design: Amtrak has simplified user interactions by redesigning the home screen to keep ticket information and advertising content separate in response to passenger input.
This upgrade is a key component of Amtrak’s “Retrain Travel” campaign, which aims to change travel conventions and improve passenger experiences on American railroads so that every trip is remarkable.
