In most recent interview The American Rager, Lortab Txnn, clarified how he’s been mourning the lose of close friend and frequent collaborator, WORLDSTAR RAYBRICK, and still balancing out his new experience of success. The Tupelo native untangles how the death has birthed a creative blockage and sudden stagnation. He even go as far as to elaborate on other inner-family matters. Lortab Txnn has noted how the past few months he’s been coping with the struggles by receding more into the shadows and becoming less social. Defining his aura as being ‘ghoulish’. Outside of personal issues, he voiced how said things played a heavy role in an upcoming project titled, AMERICAN PUNK.
Although a date wasn’t provided, the protagonist babbled how this album was more genre-bending than the previous. He stated how he’s been working on this project for what seemed like two years; from creating melodies to materializing realities. Lortab Txnn insisted how this album seemed more like a playlist of his life as it illustrates some of his inner demons and displays his charisma throughout the soundtrack.
Few tracks were played during the interview, each track sounding like extension of the other. Subjects varied from death of friends to how performing felt like a ritual. The world that nurtures the album feels surreal and immersive; causing the audience to be snatched into an endless performance. Although the record is full of adrenaline pumping songs there’s a unique balance of melancholic, slower-paced ones to compliment them. The American Rager gave little insight on the release, but he did mention how the experience would makeup for the delay. Much confidence was displayed as he spoke about the project; at times it even felt as if he was drowning in cockiness. Mysterious, yet unique. Insightful, but complex.
