Alternative, Nu-Punk artist Krosst Out is breaking all the rules with his brand new single “This The New Shit!” set to release May 12.
The single is the first of many to come from rap-rocker Krosst Out with the announcement of his third album I Had A Dream I Didn’t Have Eyes due later this year.
A brash re-introduction but that’s how Krosst Out wants it “It’s the perfect introductory track to this new sound, and era that I’m in.”
“It’s the song I want people to hear first, I’m in your face, I attack the idea you had of me as an artist and spill new blood” Krosst Out shares. “It’s the intro track I need people to hear, it’s a re-introduction to who I am, a moment for me to say, hi, I missed you, let’s get down to business”
Coming out of 2020’s sophomore album Phone Calls With Ghost which is a dark, personal, and raw project, Krosst Out went on to release a slew of singles such as “Runaway” featuring Melotika and “Fix Myself” in 2021, “3 Cheers (Bottle Boy)” with Polychuck and JBRD and “Anesthesia” featuring OnCue (whose writing credits include Eminem) in 2022. Krosst Out is ready to shed his skin once more and break the rules of what current music should be.
The song makes reference “…everywhere I go I’m still repping Campbellford” a true statement as Krosst Out makes it a point to wear his hometown of 3000 like a backpack, making sure everyone knows his origin.
“I Had A Dream I Didn’t Have Eyes is a deconstruction of my thoughts on the world. I found my meaning through Phone Calls With Ghosts but this album is an expression of how life has no meaning, and coming to terms with that. I wanted to showcase these thoughts the best I could and it took on a sort of Kafkaesque motif” Krosst Out shares about his upcoming third project. “It’s dark and aggressive, while making no apologies.”
“This The New Shit!” follows a music video released in two parts later on through Krosst Out’s YouTube account.
