Wendy Williams shared her opinions on pop culture, termed “Hot Topics,” on her daytime talk program for over ten years. On Friday’s “The View,” she was the talk of the town.
The TV icon made an appearance on the country’s top daytime talk program to make her case to the panel, claiming she is stuck in a guardianship that is comparable to the lengthy legal conservatorship that Britney Spears is under.
Williams conducted a pre-recorded phone interview with co-hosts Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin. (A contractual provision prevents Oscar winner Whoopi Goldberg, the show is moderator, from working on Fridays.)
In the Friday interview, Williams stated, “It was my choice to get an independent evaluation on my incapacitation, which– I do not have it.” Behar noted that the talk show host seemed “OK.”
Referring to her guardians and the judge in her case, Williams remarked, “I have been doing important things all my life and these two people do not look like me, they do not dress like me, they do not talk like me, they do not act like me,” adding, “How dare they say I have incapacitation.” I don’t.
Williams went on, “I need them to, on my knees, get off my neck.”
Wendy Williams was taken to a hospital in New York City “for evaluation” following a police welfare check.
According to Williams, she resides at a memory care facility at the moment.
Williams, 60, admitted, “I spend most of my time in the bedroom.” The host of the talk program claimed to be on “the memory unit floor where the people are 70, 80, and 90 years old.” I am sixty years old.
“For giving me my start” as a “legal eagle” on her radio show, the host hailed Williams.
Wendy Williams says ‘I don’t want’ guardian Sabrina Morrissey
Before becoming well-known on “Wendy,” Williams, who had a program much to Howard Stern’s, hosted radio shows in Philadelphia and New York City. She had a history of celebrity feuds, including a notorious 2003 back-and-forth with Whitney Houston. With the rumored debut of her own talk show in 2008, she exchanged the airwaves for a seat at her famous purple chair.
Williams disclosed that the familiar seat where she spilled the tea is in “storage” along with the rest of her possessions.
“Everything I own, including my handbags, sneakers, and clothes, is kept in storage. Williams revealed that if she is freed from guardianship, she will place the beloved furniture in her apartment. “And yes, the fabulous purple chair is in storage, but when it comes out of storage, I am keeping it with me for my life,” she stated.
Williams told the co-hosts, “I wish I was allowed to actually put on nice clothing and come see you in person, but I cannot,” adding, “you know I will” in response to Behar’s suggestion that she attend the panel if she is freed.
Morrissey was also criticized by Williams during the “The View” interview.
Williams stated, “I do not want Sabrina (Morrissey), period,” emphasizing her desire “to get out” of her guardianship. “You know, it is time for my life and my finances to return to normal after more than three years.”
Wendy Williams went to NYC hospital for welfare check on Monday
Williams was taken to a hospital in New York City earlier this week after the New York Police Department conducted a welfare check on him.
According to a spokeswoman who spoke to USA TODAY, the NYPD “responded to a welfare check” at the senior living facility where she resides on Monday. EMS attended and took a 60-year-old woman to a nearby hospital for assessment, it went on.
